Class:Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider
Date:Thursday, August 15, 2013
Time:12:00 PM To 4:00 PM
Location:UMKC School of Nursing, Simulation Lab Room 4418

This course is for NON-CMH employees only. Please see ICN Educators (ICNEducator@cmh.edu) for employee course availability.

This course is designed for healthcare professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation, both those taking NRP for the first time and those renewing. While this course does not guarantee proficiency during an actual resuscitation, it lays the foundation of knowledge, technical skills, and teamwork and communication skills that enable participants to continue development of neonatal resuscitation skills.

Participants need to self-study the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 6th Edition (or view the DVD that accompanies the textbook) and pass the NRP online examination prior to the course. A printout of the successful online completion must be brought to the course (online testing is to be completed no more than 30 days prior to attending the course).

For more information, please go to www.aap.org/nrp and read the resources under the Online Examination tab. Time at the course will focus on hands-on learning for practicing skills, Integrated Skills Stations for evaluation, immersive simulations, and constructive debriefings. The Simulation and Debriefing component is used primarily to improve teamwork and communication.

Fee for non-CMH employee includes textbook for registrant, refreshment breaks and completion card.

Additional Fee(s)

An online evaluation fee will be incurred at www.aap.org/nrp. If registrant desires to purchase textbook, there is an additional $60 fee incurred. Please indicate on registration where shown; otherwise, any textbook sent to you by us is a loaner and is to be returned on day of course. Employees of Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics will receive instructions to take one online examination with no fee. *Fee is same if registrant has own book.
Continuing education credit is earned upon completion of the online exam (Printout of Examination Verification/Education will list credit earned depending upon your discipline.)
