Ragweed plants prefer the weather in the morning to be warm and dry. When we have cloudy, rainy mornings they do not put out as much pollen and what they do put out often gets washed to the ground by the rainfall. However, we are just at the beginning of the ragweed season and as soon as the sunshine returns we will have lots of pollen in the air. We are expecting the highest ragweed counts of the season in the next two weeks.

Disclosure:
Pollen and mold counts are collected at the various locations using Allergenco Sampler MK-3s. Results are expressed as the median value of the particles per cubic meter from each site and represent an integrated 24 hour collection. These results may be published provided their source is acknowledged. Commercial use of these results is not permitted unless written authorization is provided by the Children's Mercy Hospital section of Allergy/Asthma?Immunology. All questions should be addressed to (816)234-3097 during the day. For a recorded count call (816)346-1331.
