Tips for Families Helping Children Return to School

Your child's return to school is a very important step in his/her recovery after hospitalization. Returning to school after a long absence or with a new medical diagnosis may cause anxiety or stress.

A school program designed to educate your child's peers on your child's medical experience can reduce anxiety and ease your child's transition back into the classroom.

The following resources are designed to support you and your child toward a successful re-entry into the classroom. Please contact the Department of Child Life at (816) 234-3757 with any additional questions or concerns.
