The program in pediatric cardiology is offered through Children's Mercy and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The three-year training experience is designed to promote expertise through outstanding clinical, academic, investigative, and administrative instruction.

Fellowship Curriculum

Our physicians integrate education for fellows, residents, medical and nursing students into all aspects of patient care. Residency programs thrive in pediatrics, medicine-pediatrics and pediatric neurology, with fellowship training programs in 24 subspecialties.

Cardiology Staff

The Ward Family Center for Congenital Heart Disease includes 13 board-certified pediatric cardiologists and three congenital cardiothoracic surgeons with support from nursing, social work, nutrition and exercise physiology. The high-volume center offers the region's most comprehensive care from birth to young adulthood for congenital and acquired heart disease, boasting outstanding clinical facilities, and research training opportunities.

Fellowship Highlights

  • Fellows will develop clinical knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular conditions.
