Children's Mercy offers three-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Our program provides a broad-based, comprehensive clinical, educational and research experience for the developmental-behavioral fellow. We are committed to high-quality patient care enhanced by academic and research endeavors.

Academic Curriculum

The overall goal of the program is to train pediatricians for an academic career in developmental-behavioral pediatrics. Upon completion of the training program, fellows will be eligible for board certification in developmental-behavioral pediatrics.

Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Staff

Our faculty includes seven developmental pediatricians, three child psychiatrists, twenty-three doctorate-level psychologists, five family therapists, as well as individuals in social work and nursing.

Fellows are given the opportunity and resources to pursue research, completing a large-scale project before the end of their fellowship.

Internship

The Division of Developmental-Behavioral Sciences fully supports a Clinical Child Psychology Internship Training Program accredited by the American Psychological Association. Placing this internship in this section allows the intern to work with a wide variety of professional experiences.
