The primary mission of the neonatal-perinatal fellowship training program at Children’sMercy Hospitals and Clinics (CMHC) is to provide an environment in which trainees receive the highest possible quality of education in the scientific approach and clinical skills’ acquisition for the effective delivery of health care. This program endeavors to equip trainees with the skills and attitudes required to be life-long learners, effective teachers of families and other members of the health care team, and productive members of the larger community.
Clinical training is provided in two neonatal intensive care units at CMHC and Truman Medical Center and a high risk follow-up clinic at CMHC. A wide range of opportunities exist for training and active participation in epidemiologic, pulmonary biology, and translational research. The program is proud of its graduates, as every one of them has gone on to successful careers in academic and private practice.
