Children's Mercy has a contract with the Kansas City, Missouri School District to provide qualified teachers for bedside and classroom teaching during the regular school year. Patients who cannot leave their rooms get personal bedside attention from teachers and volunteers. Patients who can leave their rooms also receive personal attention in the hospital's on-site classroom.We encourage patients to use their own books and assignments. When that is not possible, Children's Mercy teachers provide appropriate books and supplies.
