  • Supplemental AD&D coverage matches your supplemental life insurance benefit, up to a maximum of $100,000.

Long-Term Disability Coverage
  • Children's Mercy provides long-term disability coverage at no cost for full-time employees.
  • This benefit pays 60% of your pay rate, up to $15,000 a month, if you are disabled and unable to perform the essential duties of your job because of accidental bodily injury, sickness, mental illness, substance abuse or pregnancy.
  • Coverage is effective following a 90-day waiting period and ends when you are medically able to return to work.

Short-Term Disability Coverage
  • Children's Mercy provides this optional coverage to full- and part-time employees.
  • This benefit pays 60% of your pay rate from the 15th to the 90th day of your disability, or until you are released to work, whichever is earlier.
  • The plan may "fill the gap" until long-term disability coverage is effective.

Critical Illness Coverage

  • This benefit pays a one-time, tax-free payment upon diagnosis of a covered critical illness or condition, e.g., heart attack, stroke and transplants.
